Welcome to the wonderful year that is 2014

Hi there and welcome.

This is the first post of many for students, parents, family and teachers of students in Room 5 at Hampden Street School in Nelson, New Zealand.

Please came back here often as the blog will be updated regularly and it should be a fun place to visit.

The aim of the blog is twofold: it is to give you a real insight into what is happening in Room 5.
Secondly, it is a great vehicle to show off all the fantastic work the students have put in during the year. The blog was mostly visited last year by students wishing to view their own work and that of their peers.

I would love to encourage parents to take an active role this year in viewing and commenting on their child's work.

The children will also have their own personal learner blogs (PLB's) this year to further document their learning journey-it will a place for them to reflect on their learning and to showcase their awesome skills.
